Step 1: You need a place to put your site.

The first thing you need if you want to put a web page on the internet is find a web space provider. There are many companies that provide free web space. Some require their banner be placed some were on your page but most do not. Most of these companies provide a page builder to build your site. You do not need to know how to program in HTML or Java. You can also use software on your computer good software program is Microsoft Front Page, But you need to find a space provider that will load Front page sever extensions so you can upload your pages from your computer. Another good software program is Macromedia Dreamweaver.

Here is a list of other Web Page design software

  • Adobe Page Mill
  • Asymetrix Web Publisher
  • Claris Home Page
  • Corel Web Designer
  • Home Site
  • HTML Assustant Pro

Step 2: Build your site:

Don't worry if you don't know how to program in HTML or Java. With the software I mentioned above you can build a web site without ever writing a line of code. You point and click and as you add images and text to your site the software writes the code for you.

It is always a plus to know how to write HTML code so you can make changes to your site. If you want to learn how to write HTML for your site here are some links to free sites that teach Basic HTML.
